WELCOME!
LNWM is a specialist Local wine wholesaling business based in Warrnambool, established in 2017 and operated by former journalist and academic Louise North. It services and supports the restaurant, café, hotel, and independent retail trade in South-West Victoria.
LNWM showcases an expressive portfolio of high quality estate grown wines from the surrounding Henty, Grampians and Pyrenees regions as well as other world-class wine regions in Victoria (Mornington and Bellarine Peninsulars, King Valley, Heathcote), and South Australia (Coonawarra, Barossa, McLaren Vale, and the Limestone Coast).
LNWM assists restaurants and licensed venues to select and purchase wholesale wines which best match their business and provides a memorable food and wine experience for their customers that reflects our region. I also assist restaurants in creating wine lists, and matching wines to food.
I travel extensively throughout Victoria and South Australia, talking to the owners and winemakers - of sometimes little known - but excellent vineyards, and sampling some of the region's finest and most exciting vintages. My emphasis is on sourcing a broad selection of wine varieties and price points from producers who understand character and regional style - and can provide consistent supply.
If you are interested in having wines with great regional character in your restaurant/hotel/cafe, and inspiring your diners with a sense of discovery - or if your winery is interested in being added to my portfolio - please contact Louise today.
Sante!

About Louise
My interest in the wine industry began when I moved to Hobart in the late 1990s where I worked as a journalist for News Ltd. At the time, Tasmania's wine industry was in its infancy and I took a particular interest in watching the young wine industry grow. It was also where my love of cool climate varieties such as pinot noir began. Of course I have been an avid collector of wine for many years. I cannot resist browsing bottle shops and tasting wines at cellar doors!
I worked with The Mercury newspaper's chief wine writer and former restaurateur, Graeme Phillips, who had an extensive knowledge of the local food and wine industry. He mentored and encouraged me to explore my love of wine further, and, alongside Graeme, I became a wine writer for The Mercury.
I relocated to Warrnambool in 2013 and worked in academia and online media. Then, needing a change in inspiration, I saw that there was an opportunity to link local restaurants to quality regional and boutique wineries.
I started LNWM in July 2017 and wake up every day loving what I do - sourcing the best and most interesting wines from around Victoria and South Australia and showcasing them to local restaurants. hotels, and licensed cafes to provide customers with wines of the best value, quality and variety possible.
Now, that is my kind of life!
